FROM HOBBY TO PASSION
What started off as a hobby for young Nihal, his liking for tennis, grew and turned into his passion. Nihal’s interest in the game got him craving to do better each time. His intensed practice sessions reflects his appetite to do better in the tennis circuit.
During his training and coaching sessions, Nihal observed the enormous talent in youngsters who aspired to do well in the game however due to the intense social and economical pressure could not pursue the game further. At the end, it was a sad that those individuals succumb to the pressure and give up the race.
Unlike many western countries where talent is recognized at an early age and support is provided from all ends, our country’s major opportunity area is to motivate such potentially talented players. There is also a serious shortfall of adequate infrastructure, resources and even the culture for a player to grow.
The situation is precarious and needs to be addressed immediately. Many can be vocal about it however the issue can be only arrested with action and not words. The thought to make a change in someones life lead to Nihal laying the foundation stone to the Give Ten initiative.
